Hi there!

I am new to the community and stopping by to introduce myself. My name is Chelsea and I am from TN. I'm a married stay at home mom to three young children, two dogs, a cat, a mini pig, twelve chicks and two poulets! Never a dull moment around here XD I'm new to the world of chickens and turkeys. So new, in fact, they are still in large tubs in our bedroom until we can build a coop and they reach a proper size to go outside!

I started with 6 and am beginning to think they are all male or mostly male.
2 Cornish Cross
2 Black Sex Link
2 Black Asian
They are I would say 8-10 weeks old easily.
I then went back for 6 more chicks
2 Rhode Island Reds
2 Light Bantams
2 Americanas (Easter Eggers I believe)
These are probably a month old.

I also have two baby turkeys. My knowledge so far on them is limited to they are the white ones XD

Well if you have any questions please ask!

Hello and welcome to BYC. I'm sure you realise, but your Cornish cross are meat birds and don't have much of a life after 8 weeks or so.

Here’s a link to the Articles section - https://www.backyardchickens.com/articles/ There you’ll find lots of information on almost every aspect of keeping chickens - from coop building ideas, to incubating eggs.

There’s a link on the page above to the Learning Centre - it’s a great resource. If you have a specific topic in mind, just type it in the search box - there's a wealth of information on past and present threads.

Each week, various topics are discussed, which can also be a great resource - https://www.backyardchickens.com/a/topic-of-the-week-thread-archive

Unfortunately I didn't realize at the time they were meat birds and I did not get them with that intent. Both birds are probably close to 2 pounds now and gaining quickly.
