Hey everyone,
Just wanted to make a quick introduction post.
My name is Beau, and my wife, Mindy, and I currently have about 27 chickens. Though 17 of them are still babies.
We have 4 fully grown girls who give us around 3 eggs a day, and 6 adolescences. We have 4 roos, and we suspect that we'll have a few more when the babies get older. So far the roos we have get along really well.
I've lurked on these forums for awhile, and figured it was time to register for an account.
Right now, we have two coops we bought from Tractor Supply with a run that we built between the two, but we know that we're going to have to add another coop or finally get around to building a really big one.
During the day, our girls and boys free range around our property, and we close up the coop and run when it gets dark.
Last night we finally spotted our first real predator, a fox, but luckily it ran off pretty quick when we came out.
This is my first experience with chickens, but my wife has owned them in the past. I've learned a lot, and love having chickens.
I look forward to interacting with everyone.
-Beau
