Just joined your community today and looking for advice with our very 1st chicken flock....We do get some advice from friends and from our local feed store, but I am open to all helpful advice and helpful tips to make sure that I have a happy and healthy flock.

(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?

We are very new to chickens. We got 10 hens as babies at chick day at our local feed store and have raised them and they are currently about 24 weeks.

(2) How many chickens do you have right now?

10 hens and adopted a Rooster

(3) What breeds do you have?

4 Rhode Island Reds, 3 Brahmas, 3 Plymouth Rocks, 1 Leghorn mix

(4) How did you find out about BackYardChickens.com?

Found BackYardChickens.com when I was using google to ask questions

(5) What are some of your other hobbies?

Boating, Hiking, Gardening, Knitting and Crochet

(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.

Recently left my career of 10+ years in the dental field to be a stay-at-home mother to my 2 beautiful kids. Son age 4, Daughter age 6 months ....Along with our chickens we have to kitties Ella and Kiara.

(7) Bonus: How did you find BYC, how long have you known about BYC, and what made you finally join our awesome community?

Joined to find kind and helpful folks like myself who I can get tips and advice about keeping a happy and healthy flock
