I hope I am doing this right...
I’m Ella from Tennessee. I grew up around my granny’s farm with all kinds of animals. The chicks were always my favorite though. I shared this memory with my son (16) and he said he’d love to raise chickens, so here we go!

We have 4 Cornish X
2 silver laced Wyandotte
And 2 welsummer

ANY advise is very welcomed!

Nice to have you aboard! You can ask any question you might have in the appropriate forum and get good answers. Or you can use the search function to look up any topic for information that's already on the site, and there is a ton of it. Both the forums and the search function can be accessed through the line of brown buttons at the top of your screen when on BYC.

I'm sure you already know the Cornish x are your meat birds, and the Wyandottes and Welsummers are your layers. The Cornish will need to be butchered at the appropriate time depending on what you want them for. The layers should give you lots of eggs for at least 2 or 3 years. They'll require different feed and housing than the Cornish.
