I'm a new duck mommy of four. They're all tractor supply duckies and Everytime I Google a question about my duckies, you guys have the answer, so I decided to join when I had a worrisome about my oldest hen. We just moved to a house in the late spring that has the land to have poultry. We got ducks on a wim (though I know that's unrecommended) and we're OBSESSED. We love them so much. We live in the woods though, so we haven't let them out at night yet because of how small they are and we're afraid of predators. Cannot wait to be more informed on how to be a proper duck mommy and make duckie and chicky momma/daddy friends. Thank you all!!

Welcome to BYC!

Your ducks are very cute. I think you are wise not to let them out much, especially at night. If you live in the woods then you likely have lots of aerial predators like owls and hawks, and they can take a duckling in the blink of an eye. It's always best to keep a close eye on them, even as adults, when they free range, and it is always best to keep them in a predator proof coop at night.

I hope you enjoy exploring the site.
