We are new muscovy owners. We had rescued our first muscovy this last Thanksgiving. He was badly injured so we took him home and nursed him back to health. After doing some research, some of which came from this site, I learned that ducks dont like to live alone. So we starting searching for more, which isn't easy in late fall early winter, then finally found someone selling them and got 7 more. So we have a total of 8 muscovys, 3 drakes and 5 hens. The one we rescued we thought was female but turned out it was a young Male. We also have a blind hen, which we didnt know until after we got them home. I love raising my muscovys. The way they wag their tails and greet you when you come out. They are much more than just livestock. We are also starting into honey bees. I'm married and we have 9 year old boy who loves the ducks as much as we do. I have looked on BYC for advice alot regarding my ducks and I really wanted to be apart of this community.
