Hi there, happy to join the community from way over in the French Alps :)

As I'm generally not much good with presentations, here are my answers to your fantastic template.

(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
I had a couple of hens a while back, but moved to a flat and had to rehome them.
We bought an old farmhouse in december that we are currently renovating, complete with a brick coop, and I treated myself to my first pullets for my birthday in march.

(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
At the moment I have eight hens, one roo and seven chicks.

(3) What breeds do you have?
A couple of german faverolles.
Leghorn.
Silkie (whoops, forgot about her and had to edit)
A sort of mixed breed easter egger.
French heritage breeds : Gournay, Marans.
Two bantam cochins.
The chicks are all splash bantam cochins except for one golden salmon marans.

(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens?
Yummy fresh eggs, obviously, and also just watching them scratch around the garden, soooo relaxing!

(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
Animals, in all shapes and sizes.
And at the moment I am very into the work we are doing on our new home :)

(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
We have a cat, and an adorable two year old Cane Corso who does very well with her new feathered friends, she just loves hanging out with them.

(7) Bonus: How did you find BYC, how long have you known about BYC, and what made you finally join our awesome community?
Basically, looking up stuff on google, french resources are very poor and forums are not very active, but you guys are an awesome chickcylopedia, I'm so happy to join the community!

Thanks for the welcome guys!

Here are a few pics of my happy bunch :) The faverolle rooster doesn't look like much at the moment, he's going through his awkward teenage phase, but he is ever so sweet and has the most loveable temperament.

The silkie enjoyed the cherries just a little bit too much...

Our pup during one of her favorite occupations, hanging out with her mates.

Our pup with the day-old marans chick who loved to snuggle up to her, she was heartbroken when we put him with his surrogate mum on day 3.

Thank you all for the warm welcome!
@DobieLover your rooster is amazing, mine looks like a (very tall) bunch of rags next to him, but hopefully we'll get there some day, he is only 6 months old after all :D
I'll try to snap a few nice pics of the coop when the weather turns definitely good, it was probably built in the 50s' and needs a good renovation, but its' still standing strong.
