Sorry about the loss of your 4 chicks; it's always heartbreaking to lose any, even if they were brand-new.
I LOVE that animals outnumber people in your family, and that you are using the chicks as a learning experience for your human little ones. I think kids who grow up with critters are given wonderful opportunities to develop responsibility, empathy and kindness. Kudos to you!
