I'm not new to chickens, but I still feel like a novice.
Currently we have 5 chickens. 1 rooster and 4 hens. We used to have a ton of chickens, but over the years, we would lose them to predators.
Now one of our hens and the rooster are the survivors of that original flock. They are American Bantham mix.
The other 3 hens are Naked necks. I'd love to get some more of them and maybe a few Rhode Island Reds. We had a few of those before too.
Our boys love having chickens and I love fresh eggs! They're so much better. I can't wait until these Naked Necks start laying eggs. They're old enough now, but it's been super hot, so they'll probably not lay any until it cools down a bit. (We're in Florida.)
Other than that, I love to read, write, crochet, play video games, and I also homeschool my boys.
I Googled an issue we're having with one of the Naked Necks (she tried swallowing a long stick!) So I Googled it and found my way here. I posted my issue, then realized I should introduce myself, so here I am.
