Thanks for the warm welcome and the well wishes for our hen! (Turken! That's the name I couldn't remember LOL)

This am she ate 2 pieces of corn and walked away from the food. So I'm quite worried. I'm hoping she heals up ok. Not sure if there's really anything that can be done.

I posted it in the "injuries and cures" section of the forums. Only one response so far. We just keep checking on her. *Sigh*

Glad I'm here! I'll need support if I lose her to this incident. We just finally gave her a name, too... Orchid. The others were easy, but she illuded me until I saw a black orchid on TV. (She's all black)

By the way, the names of our chickens are:
Kurt & Goldie (the original flock)
Orchid (all black)
Butter Sticks (all yellow)
Feisty Pants (black with brown tipped feathers)

Does anyone else name their chickens? Or am I just weird?

Yes. We do.
I have around 50ish...all with names, some with given names, middle names, and last names, and even nicknames.
They all respond to their names. They all know others names. So no, nothing weird about either of us

Oh my goodness! That's amazing that they respond to their names! I don't know how you keep that many straight. We started losing track with our original flock when we got over 15! Many were just looking too much alike LOL
