Hello everyone! 😊

I am thrilled to introduce myself to this chicken keeping forum and connect with fellow enthusiasts. My name is Dora and I am fairly new to raising chickens, having started two years ago with a flock of six birds. Currently, we have eight chickens in our flock, which consists of different breeds like Rhode Island Reds, Buff Orpingtons, Barred Rocks, and Easter Eggers.

My favorite aspect of raising backyard chickens is the connection to nature and knowing where my food comes from. Watching the chickens scratch and peck around the yard is also a source of joy for me. Besides chicken keeping, I love hiking, gardening, and reading.

I live with my husband, two children, and our pets, including a dog and two cats. In addition to raising chickens, I work as a teacher at a local elementary school.

I found BYC while searching for chicken care tips online, and I've been lurking on the forum for a few months now. The valuable information I've found here motivated me to join the community and connect with other chicken keepers to learn from their experiences.

Thank you for having me here, and I'm looking forward to interacting with all of you and your flocks! 🐔
