(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens? No, I'm not. My husband is the real chicken nut. He got our first chickens about 10 years ago.
(2) How many chickens do you have right now? 15
(3) What breeds do you have? Barred Rock, Sussex, Ameracaunas, Wyandotte and one I don't know what she is
(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens? I love spending time with them. Getting them to trust me and to be friendly.
(5) What are some of your other hobbies? fishing, card making, Bible Study
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share. My husband and I are retired and we have two beautiful ragdoll cats to love.
(7) Bonus: How did you find BYC, how long have you known about BYC, and what made you finally join our awesome community?
I was looking for answers to chicken questions maybe 7-8 years ago. I want to track down people who raise Ameracauna or Easter Egg chickens. We love the green and blue eggs but our girls are getting old and we would like to find more to replace them when they die.
