I have 6 hens. I believe most are laying now. 3 hens lay every day. I have 24 eggs and they are all very small eggs. They haven’t gotten bigger yet. Interestingly on of my white Brahma is laying green eggs. I thought they only laid brown eggs. I know it was here as she started her hen yell that she had laid an egg. When I looked it was green. My 2 starlighter hens lay brown and one lays blue. Another thing about my Brahmas. They are very nasty when you try to look and see if they have an egg. Really hard peck. I pick them up every time they peck at me. They only do it when in coop or nesting box. They don’t peck when out in yard. My two starlighters think they are my pets. The two hens try and come up the balcony steps to great me when I am coming in yard. All the hens follow me in the yard. Just wish we would get larger eggs and the Brahmas would chill out when in nesting box. Guess each flock has their own personalities.I have raised chickens in the past. I recently started raising chickens again. From TSupply I purchased in February 4 white Brahma chicks and two starlighter chicks. The chickens are 5 months old now. The “2”Starlighter hens have both started laying eggs. (The Brahmas mature later and won’t start laying of another month or two). I have a dark brown starlighter and a golden colored one. The dark brown starlighter has been laying 1 egg every day. They are perfect brown eggs, they have yolks, but they are very small. After a solid week of laying I thought they would get bigger. Now my second golden starlighter hen has laid her first egg today. A lovely blue color, has a yolk and like the other starlighter she too has a small egg. I have never had a chicken lay such small eggs. My girls are all raised in a Omlet hen house. They are fed laying hen feed. Have plenty of water and a lot of time out in back yard. My hens all run to me and follow me around. The two starlighters have started doing the funny squatting near me basically accepting me as the rooster lol. I rub their backs. That is how I knew they were about to start laying. The Brahmas don’t do the squatting yet. So my question is, “will these two hens start eventually laying bigger eggs?” Thank you for your help in advance!
