Help ...I just bought 10 baby chicks not vaccinated for Marek and they allready have 6 to 8 days old should I still vaccinated them? and where can I find the vaccine also what will be the next vaccine to go for and what age thanks in advance

If not do not worry to late they need it no later than 1 day old.

Thanks ...and no I had no chickens before here so no Marek here.I just to have a lot of rooster and chickens in Puerto Rico (fighting breed)when I was younger and the only vaccine I remember was the one for the pox. Thank you

Hi, welcome, thanks for joining. As I understand it, the vaccine does not prevent them from getting Marek's, it only prevents them from revealing that they have it. So if you go to shows, or if you sell or give away any of your birds, you could be spreading Marek's without realizing it. I stopped vaccinating when when I learned this. I would rather know that there is Marek's in my flock, if there is, so I can isolate my flock. Truth is, my flock is already isolated so I don't worry about it. Hope this helps.
