Hi all! Greetings from Clarksville, TN. I am just starting out with chickens and am ridiculously excited about it. As my screen name says, I now feel "1 step closer" to self sufficiency (my ultimate goal). My husband thinks I am slightly nuts but in a good way. He rolled his eyes when I bought them but turned around and proudly told everyone at work that we have chickens and will be raising our own eggs. LOL

Chickens are ridiculously exciting! I hope that your husband will grow to love them as much as mine has. We spend our evenings relaxing out in the chicken and duck pens. Quality time.

Thanks for the welcome! I had the day from hell yesterday and I found myself practically RUNNING home to hang with my chickens. My little homestead oasis in the middle of Clarksville. LOL I was a little worried about the neighbors (my chickens are technically contraband) but I have since learned several people in the area have them including one house that turned out to have a duck! (They tried to pass the duck onto us but I need to figure our my chickens first before I go "exotic". LOL
