Hello i'm new here and new raising ckickens. Can someone help me out on this site and help me learn more about my chickens. I've been getting eggs for about 1 month now. I just need someone to talk to if i'm raising my chicken right. Thanks clyde

Hello i have 3 Rhode island red and 3 white one don't know the name of breed.They been laying eggs for about 2 months now. I've been washing the eggs and put them in a frig. just wondering if i doing the right thing?.just wanted to be safe so i can eat the eggs. I'm really new to this.

Hi and welcome to BYC from northern Michigan

I dont wash my eggs unless they are soiled, and if I wash them I eat them right away. Eggs stay fresh longer if not washed.

Hi and from Ohio. So glad to have you aboard. I only wash eggs that are dirty. I have never worried about eating any eggs. My grandmother used to keep the eggs in a bowl on the counter for days and they never got sick.
