Hi i got my daughter 6 red nova hybrids as pets and obviously for eggs. We are new to chickens and im sure we will need everyones help as we start the journey as chicken keepers. Shes 16 month old and we cant keep her away from the run with offerings of lettuce and dandelion leaves which the hens take from her hand eagerly. My question already is can we give them too much ? They have layers mash and fresh water infront of them all the time but wondered if too much greens will give them the trotts.

! Pleased to have you with us! Chickens are pretty good at regulating what they eat - as long as they have proper nutrition and the greens are a treat, I think you'll be good to go.
