Hello everyone! I am a small time hobby farmer, which has quickly turned into an obsession!!! I just love my girls!! I currently have 12 hens of various shapes and sizes, 2 roosters, 2 old goats, (14 and 10years), 2 Airedale Terriers, 2 cats, and 1 turtle named Jeff!
I have been coming to back yard chicken whenever I have had a question, so thought it was time to get an official account!

Lol, you are so right! My daughter found Jeff one day in mid april, we live in Michigan and had had a cold front come thru with some snow. It looked as if she had just hatched out. She was hardly moving and stiff with cold, so we brought her in warmed her up and 6 years later she is still with us! When we found her she was the size of a fifty cent piece, today she is the size of a small dinner plate. We found out later that Jeff is a girl, but by that time the name Jeff had stuck so we didnt change it.
