I'm a newby on here and a newby raising chickens. Mine are almost 5 months old now. I've been reading everyone's post on here to help me get thru the past five months :). All went good didn't lose any chicks. I am having a problem with one of mine right now tho. Her eyes are sunk in yesterday they got frothy in the corners. I had started the avc about a week ago when she stated looking funny yest. I did the vitamins in the water and gave her mash which she gobbled up but haven't actually seen her drink. I have them all watermelon yesterday and I did see her easy that. No other symptoms right now. But the roosters eyes are starting to look like hers. No sneezing or cough? Any ideas? Thank you.

Are you putting the ACV in the eye dropper to but the fluids in your chickens beak ?????

Do that every couple of hours and check for head shaking or liquids coming from the beak like drooling...

I put in thier water but couldn't get her to open her beak for me. I will try again today. What ratio do you use for acv I've just been adding a little and I'm afraid it's not enough.

One cup of water add one teaspoon of ACV and mix that will be good enough and put in eye dropper and if you are having a problem holding the chicken wrap it up in a towel this will hold the wings and feet and this way you will only need to deal with the head and you might as well sniff the beak for an order coming from her breath and if you smell a foul order you have sour crop lets hope this is not the problem ....

Post pics of what you're seeing in the Emergencies section. ACV is wonderful stuff, but it's not a medicine and it sounds like your chickens may need some. Good luck!

Hello there and welcome to BYC!

X2 on the emergency section. ACV is probably not strong enough for what you are dealing with....most likely a bacterial infection going around the flock.

Good luck and I hope you can get this under control.

Hello :frow and Welcome To BYC! Hope your hen is OK.

No frothy stuff today her eyes still look sunken tho. Thank you for the help going out to work with her now I'll let you know how she is. I work nights so had to sleep this am. I'll post in the emergency section.
