I hope you reported your losses and defective chicks to the hatchery - sadly some places don't care what they send out. People have received chicks missing an eye, or twisted feet and unable to stand, as well as cross beaks(think scissors closure) which gets worse as the chick grows making it difficult and sometimes impossible for them to eat. They should refund for the loss. Hope you never have to deal with them again. Maybe you can find breeders in your area and be able to see what you are getting first. Some feed stores turn around the sell the same low grade of chicks -because they are still cute and people don't realize what they are getting into.

Sorry about your losses and bad luck with the hatchery shipment. Sounds like they did not look at the chicks they packed. I think you should take drumstick Diva's advice.
