I grew up with chickens, mostly Rhode Island Reds,it was always my job to see about any animals we had. When I moved to my current house I decided I wanted to have animals other than your average dog and cat. So about a year ago I bought some chicks and have enjoyed having them so I have gotten a few more now.
Right now I have 2 grown ladies and 4 as I call them, babies, they are about 2 months old now. I also have some new editions~ 3 turkey chicks!
I wish I knew chicken breeds well enough to name them but I know I have 2 RIR other than that they go by color or names that we have given them, such as Goldie and Brownie. Two of my chicks are white, one is a RIR, and the last one is black and white.
I discovered BackYardChickens.com when I googled chicken coops and any other question I have had concerning chickens, so I decided to join today!
As for hobbies, I like to also garden and build different things with pallets, along with searching for ways to obtain more animals other than chickens. I plan to keep them small for now like rabbits and goats!
As for me I am a single mother to 4 boys, we have 2 dogs, 5 goldfish, 2 cats, 6 chickens (2 that are one year old, and 4 two month old), and 3 turkey chicks. I will post pics once I learn how to navigate the site. I am happy to be here and hope to have all my questions answered thru the forums.

Happy that you joined us at Backyard chickens

Welcome to BYC!

Once you can post photos, share them on the "what breed/gender is this" forum and someone should be able to help id them. Here's a link to get you there:

There are others here that have rabbits and goats (like me!) and you can find those posts here:

There's something for everyone here at BYC, so make yourself at home and if you have any questions, feel free to ask.

Nice to have you here!

Thank you so much for the warm welcome and the helpful links!!!
