Hello everyone! I am new to this forum, also new to raising chickens. In February I purchased 6 RIR chicks that were days old, they were spoiled from the moment I brought them home. They are now 18 weeks old very happy chickens! They have their own enclosed coop area with lots of room to roam and eat bugs, their favorite foods are watermelon, noodles, bread, and cucumber. I also let them free range for a couple hours every day- so they are in chicken heaven

I have 2 hens and 4 roosters (I didn't know that I was getting mixes when I purchased them), I plan on expanding my flock and getting more different breeds, my next breed to get is a Barred Rock Bantam I love the coloring of this breed and bantams are just like the Yorkie in the dog world haha! I am working on getting some new names for the boys since at first they all had girly names...oops!

Just wanted to give a hello from Maryland and I am very glad to be apart of this forum!

does anyone own barred rock bantams? I've heard nothing but good things about bantams in general, there very hard to find I'm thinking of ordering online. I also like the sizzle polish bantams there just such a good looking character!

@Nickbuck10 My Dad and boyfriend keep telling me the same thing. I just don't know if I have the heart to do it...I know it sounds crazy but thats me.
