Hey all! I am pleased with all the forums and helpful hints and tips on here! I was recommended here by someone at my local feed store for help on injured baby chix! I also hope to find someone selling frizzle polish in the future! Ive been searching for about 2 years now.

Hi :welcome

Glad you could join the flock! Sorry to hear about your injured chicks and the ones you lost :hugs I just had a quick read through your other post, how awful to have a hawk attack. I'm sure you will get lots of help in the emergencies section. I hope your remaining chicks are well again soon.

I have some polish frizzle chicks for sale but I'm in the UK. Where are you? You might like to drop by one of the polish threads. Here is the link ~ https://www.backyardchickens.com/t/355316/polish-thread/0_30 There may be others near to you who breed the frizzle variety.

Wishing you the very best of luck in the future and enjoy BYC :frow

Check out your state thread..there just may be some folks near you selling what you are looking for. I know we have quite a few frizzle and sizzle birds out here. Mostly the cochin and silkie mixes though. Those little Polish Frizzles are pretty cute!

Hi, welcome to BYC!

Polish Frizzles are cute little fuzz balls, hope you can find some soon.

In addition to the previously mentioned threads, you might have some luck in the buy-sell-trade section (once you have 20 posts):

Good luck, nice to have you here!

I am actually in Maryland US. I took a browse through there and i am still learning to navigate through. I got some antibiotic spray for them, and even the little baby who wasnt doing good seems to be a little trooper. Last year i had a baby that broke or dislocated her leg right out of the box. I named her Gimpy

she became a pet for sure, when she got to be about 2 months old she was hobbling and following me in the yard

Once she was well enough back to mostly normal, she was i with the rest and i think a free range rooster we had pecked her through the cage and broke her beak right under her nostrils. Poor thing! So more hand feeding and watering for a while. I even used super glue to fix it at first.. I didnt know what else to do.. But it seemed to help at least! Though later she was one of the first to be eaten by a racoon that broke into the cage. I cried for sure.. Id never had an actual pet chicken like her before! Now i have 5 gimpys!

Sorry for your loss. You may want to check out the predator and coops section to find how to beef up security, so you won't have the raccoons coming back (they will after getting lucky). Raccoons do the most horrendous damage to chickens - if they can snag a body part through a cage or fencing, they will bite it off. You need small, strong mesh wire not poultry fencing. 1/2" hardware cloth securely attached to framework will not provide predators with a gratuitous opening for their carnage.

Well an update. Ive lost more since my last post. I have 2 of the 5 that were injured left. So im down to 11 from 17 already. The last 2 seem to be doing great. I have my boyfriend out getting 1/2" rat wire as i speak, i am so done with all the critters!
