Just thought I'd introduce myself to the BYC community. I have been visiting the website for almost a year prior to registering so I am pretty much aware of how everything works around here.

So it started earlier this year when my mother wanted to get some chickens to raise for fun. It is legal where we live and it sounded alright so we thought no more than a few, 6 or 7 right? WELL it just so happens that I have come to understand chicken math. X+1= N X is the number of chickens you currently have, and N is the number of chickens you want/should have. So 6 or 7 has turned into 15 (now 14 thanks to a hawk) and chicken math has turned into chicken meth. I'm pretty sure that I am addicted and I think that BYC might be the only place where people will understand my addiction. I am hoping to get some hatching eggs next year (up to 50 eggs of Icelandics, Barnevelders, Cream Legbars, and Blue Isbars if I can get them) and I am already set up to get 10 Swedish Flower Hen chicks from GFF.
So thats about it. Hello from a new member and a fellow Chicken lover.
