What a great intro. Yes they are BIG goofballs for sure. The article section above 4th icon from left has lots of coop and run articles.Greetings,
We live in NW Washington State and have been raising chickens for the past couple years. Current population of 37, with a few too many Roosters. We have a variety of breeds, including Buff and chocolate Orpington, Rhode Island Reds, Buckeye and Rainbow Dixie.
I had no idea chickens had such good personalities and were so entertaining to watch. I am researching the best features to have in a large coop and run that’s planned for next year.
Raising chickens are just one piece of our plan to have a self sustaining life on the property. We are currently able to provide eggs to family and neighbors.
The bulk of my time is spent working around the property, golfing and watching grandkids. I retired about ten years ago after 33 years in LE.
I discovered BYC after doing various research on building chicken coops and caring for chickens. I’m looking forward to learning much more about taking good care of our flock.
