Hi and thanks for the welcome. Our "wild chickens" look like a bantam type, but vary in color from white to golden and dark brown, gray, but are small. Cat Island has alot of history and theses chickens have just been around for over a hundred years or so. One of our local friends caught and gave us two young hens and two young roosters. Sara, the white hen, just hatched 4 white and 4 black chicks. Mary, the black hen, hatched 4 black and 2 white chicks. We are sooooo excited. My husband and I, also, sit on the "viewing bench" just to watch them scratch around and we feed them treats. Crazy I know, but we love it.
