Hello fellow chicken folk! My son has 7 chickies and I want to help him care for them

Hiya, and welcome to BYC! :frow

If you don't have any chick vitamins yet, you may want to pick up some Nutra Drench or Poultry Cell. If nothing else, until you get pictures or tell us any symptoms, I'd at least give the chicks some vitamin water for a couple of days. Please post a photo though.

Howdy, :frow and Welcome to Backyard Chickens.

Happy :ya to have you here with us. Enjoy your time here at BYC!

It appears to have Mycoplasma galliseptium. It has had this condition long before you found it soaked from the rain. There is really no treatment for MG but some antibiotics can give some relief from the symptoms.

Thanks for joining our community! :celebrate

I agree, either mycoplasma galliseptium or could be infectious coryza. Either way, you need a broad spectrum antibiotic. If you don't have a vet or cannot afford one, you can buy the antibiotics using either of these links. For either Tylosin should be effective: https://jedds.com/products/tylosin-powder?_pos=1&_sid=43a1e00ca&_ss=r. https://allbirdproducts.com/products/tylosin-powder-generic

Tylosin may give some relief of the symptoms but will not cure Mycoplasma.

ETA -- Once infected the bird is a carrier for life, if it survives the 1st round of infection.
