Welcome. My SS hen is one of my favorites. I have 3-roosters. I love roosters so much. I started a rooster and disabled chickens sanctuary, to try to save at least a few unwanted chickens and give them a good life.. I think having Akita's for the past 25-years has well prepared me for roosters. Before you get a rooster, you need to understand them, rid of any ego, and accept them for who they are, which is what God decided their job is. When/if, one can understand their job and purpose, they will know a flock is better off with a rooster than without.
