What kind of excited is the dog? You'll need to carefully monitor the dog during any interactions with the chickens if the dog posseses any level of prey drive.

Thank you! He is a Kelpie/Australian Cattle Dog mix and only allowed near the coop under supervision. Just getting him used to them being there
