(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
I’ve owned chickens for about theee years now and love it.
(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
I have about sixty chickens, ranging in breeds. Two coops and a brooder.
(3) What breeds do you have?
Bantams, silkies, Polish, Dominiques, Americanas, leghorns, and mixed breeds I’ve hatched.
(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens?
Bug, rodent, and snake control. Fresh eggs.
(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
I also enjoy riding my ATV’s!
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
I’m a stay at home mom with two children. Three cats, two dogs, and my chickens. We have 2.5 acres to make everyone happy. One dog likes to chase my chickens so he is monitored closely but my female doesn’t bother them at all. She just likes to eat the eggs!
