Hi Everyone 
I joined a few weeks ago when I was hatching my first batch of eggs.
(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
Yes and no. I hatched a sexlink, mallard and goose when I was young, over 40 years ago. I have fond memories of those days. One thing I recall was when Bonnie and Clyde were chicks, they grew up and turned into Barney and Clyde! Clyde was the meanest goose. He only liked my mom and bit everyone else! I haven't had birds since, until now.
(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
16! Of 22 eggs, 4 were not fertile, 1 late quitter, 1 hatched malformed and died in a day.
(3) What breeds do you have?
Lavender orpington
Buff orpington
Crevoceur
Houdan
Russian Orloff
Speckled Sussex
Olive Eggers blend of F2 and Birchen Marans
(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens?
Even this early they have different personalities. They fascinating to watch.
(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
Camping, gardening, traveling
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
2 kids, son 13, daughter 16. Work in IT. Down to one cat and one fish after many years of a house full of hair!

Google! I love how well put together and moderated the site is. Invaluable resource!
