I've been taking in rescued/unwanted birds/animals/fish for decades. I started with a hamster from my classroom in junior school, a gerbil from the lab in my secondary school, through all sorts, in small and large numbers over the years eg. bucketfuls of pond and tank fish from WADARS in Worthing, you'd be amazed what needs rehoming after a divorce! I was the only chipmunk rescue person in the UK for about 20 years, when I had lots of aviaries and a great deal more space than I do now. Most of my animals have been fairly small but the greatest number at one time was just over 350 creatures :O. I've only kept chickens once, well, some rooster bantams, for a few months, when they outstayed their welcome in their townhouse garden; that's the downside of incubating your own eggs, not knowing what you're going to get eh? That was quite an experience, noisy maybe but still fun and no problem for me or my neighbours then. It was interesting and I learned a few things I couldn't have anticipated; if they hadn't trampled my quails :/ I would still have them today. They were rehomed to Hen Heaven (a chicken rescue centre in Sussex) eventually. What I have kept almost continuously, though, are my favourite fowl, quails, Japs and Chinese. The Chinese we have now did something odd last week that I've not seen or heard of before :) and whilst I was doing some research online today I found your site and thouht it worth joining. It's a great idea, no matter how old you get (I am) there are always new things to learn. I have info to share and a couple of questions (often). Shaz
