(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
Yes, total noob. My current flock were all purchased at once and they are now about 6-7 weeks old.
(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
Six. But I’m already itching to add on. I am so hooked.
(3) What breeds do you have?
Easter Eggers (Tractor Supply variety, not sure if that’s really what they are), Black Cochin bantam, Red Cochin Bantam, and two Dark Brahma bantams.
(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens?
Pest control, eggs, and comedy. I just adore them.
(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
Gardening, dogs, reptiles, nature
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
In addition to my chickies, I have an amazing dog as well as a long term foster dog who belongs to a friend.
(7) Bonus: How did you find BYC, how long have you known about BYC, and what made you finally join our awesome community?
I saw it mentioned on another forum ages ago when I first thought about becoming a chicken owner and I’ve lurked but now that I am an actual chicken owner, I figured it was time to come meet other chicken owners.
