Hello from a new member...

Thanks. You should've seen them, they were so funny I took some videos of them. Oh, I just remembered I posted it on my YouTube channel (not much there haha).
Hmm, the link isn't showing up.
Hello and [belated] welcome!! 🌞 I am glad you've joined :D I like your coop and your chicks inside the tin are so adorable!

Thanks. I have since changed it out. Am using an old (thick plastic) produce box that I use for container gardening. It's sturdy and higher as well, and could put more in it. :)
If the old sandbox turtles are still available for kids, they are are great for chickens. You can put the top on during inclement weather and/or to keep cats from using as their personal toilet.

That video is awesome. What did you use to make the sand bath?
Thanks. The one in the video was made with wood ash and soil. When I changed to the black box I added more soil and a little D.E. Will have to get some more ashes because they kicked a lot of it out when it was in the tin pan.:hmm

Did you get everything from Home Depot? I'm thinking of trying it out :D

No, I had the boxes for years for my garden. The ashes I got from my daughter's fire pit. The D.E. (food grade) I got a few years ago from Amazon. I just got a 10 lb bag of it from my local discount store for $9.! The soil (on sale at Lowes) I mixed up by sifting all the sticks and other large chunks out with 1/2" hardware cloth over a bucket.
