Hello everyone!
I'm not quite a backyard chicken keeper yet, but hope to be by the time next summer rolls around. My family is trying to live more responsibly, and part of that (for us) is raising our own food whenever possible. We quite literally know nothing about chickens, other than we like eggs and meat. It's our hope to eventually be 75% self reliant in two years, and I'm hoping my son (2 years old) learns a lot about working hard, treating animals right, and providing for himself with our urban homesteading venture.
We won't be using them for meat, however, because we don't think we can slaughter our own! Any advice or info is welcome!
