Sex linked chicks

Hello! I want to breed my lavender Araucana rooster with my cuckoo maran x Wyandotte hen to get sex linked chicks. I’m new to this and I haven’t hatched from these two yet. I’m wondering if the light colour of my rooster will make the head markings difficult to spot on the males as he’s a very light grey - somewhere between a lavender and isobel? Is there a chance the males will be yellow when born? Images of the duo attached!

Lavender is recessive, so assuming he's just lavender and not dominant white as well, (because he does look quite white in the picture, but that could just be the lighting) his chicks would be black based, because lavender takes 2 copies of the gene to express.
So in theory, you should get black female chicks and barred male chicks from that cross. They should all hatch very dark, not yellow or pale gray.
The rooster does appear to have a lot of diluted gold coloring on him, so it's very possible the chicks will get varying amounts of gold/red leakage as they feather out.

This is great information! Thanks so much, he looks quite white/silver in that picture but in other light is more lavender (was sold to me as Isobel colour). This should be an interesting cross
