I got my very first pullets a week & a half ago. I turned one of my guinea pig cages into a brooder. Am building a coop & yard on the south side of my garage. The City I live in now allows 6 laying hens. Couldn't wait to start. I have one GREAT concern! My yard has been visited by mnt. lion & bear. I have seen sign of the bear already this spring. Any advise before the girls go outside?

Welcome!

No bears here (that I know of) but I've read in our Predators and Pests forum that people have success with an electric fence, fairly powerful I believe. You could do a search there.

Sorry I don't have any advice. I've never had to deal with bears or mnt. lions. GOOD LUCK THOUGH!
