Hi I am a long term reader, this is the first time posting as have had presents for the past two mornings from one of our pullets.

We have a older hen we adopted in September last year who lays nearly every day, we decided to get some chicks in October which have grown up nice and healthy, turning out to be two roosters and two hens, we have returned one rooster and will return the other when he crows. In exchange we have two new 6 wk old chicks.

So in total we have a rooster and 3 hens and the two new chicks.

I'm sure we'll have many questions to ask

The isa brown is penny the older hen, the grey hen is the new layer fluffy not sure on her breed, the white sussex with black tail is lilly and white sussex with no tail the white rooster..

Hi :welcome

Glad you could join the flock! You have some lovely birds there, love your pics. For any of your flock members you are not sure about you could lost some pics of them in the what breed gender section for help on sexing them. Here is the link https://www.backyardchickens.com/f/15/what-breed-or-gender-is-this

Good luck with your flock and hope you enjoy BYC, I am sure you will. Everyone here to help and very friendly :frow

Hi, I am from Australia too. Glad to see we can all benefit no matter where in the world we are. I am also new to BYC and chicken custodianship. Am looking forward to learning heaps from more experienced chicken owners

G'day and Welcome to the flock. BYC has a large Australian presence, always room for more. There is also a great thread "Australia, six states and one funny little island."

Seems like everyone is having cockerels pop up in the wrong places.
