New to chickens and don't actually have any yet but I've been reading and studying the site for a while now. Moved to a bigger place last year and want to add a coop and a small flock. I've been trying to decide what kind of coop to build and found tons of great info here. My DH thinks I'm nuts, says he can't imagine me with chickens but that's ok, he's always thought I was nuts anyway.
I've always wanted to homestead but never had to opportunity to really try it. But I would like to be a little more self sufficient with the economy the way it is now. I've always gardened and love that so I feel like this is a natural progression in that direction. Anyway, I'm learning lots and hope to be building a coop soon. I really appreciate all the great info here and all the people so willing to share what they know. Thanks!
