Hello Everyone,

my name is Gleason Simpson from Alabama. I was born and raised around a farm and raising chickens and other fowl was just a way of life. My dad taught me a many things about raising chickens over my growing up period. My dad was very legendary in the Game Cock area of chickens. So much that I was even named after them. I know that sounds strange but if you only knew my dad. :)

He made a very profitable living raising game chickens. Before he past away I have known of him selling a Trio of game chickens for over $5,000. I am now 41 and thinking about getting into raising quail. I have been on this site the past few day's and have seen many people helping other people and just being nice folks so I thought I'd join the fun. I'm sure I will need a little help here and there too. As of right now I am about to build my first incubator since my dad has past. I did help him build them when I was a teenager but oh man.... That seems forever ago. lol

Anyway, just saying hi. If I can help please feel free to ask and if I don't know I will sure to let you know and if I need help I'm sure there is enough nice people on here from what I can tell to lead me in the direction I need to go.

Welcome to BYC, Gleason! Sounds like you dad really knew a lot about raising game chickens. I am a chicken person and don't know much about quail (I never had any), but if you have any questions on them, just post your questions on the forum in the Quail section under Other Backyard Poultry and I'm sure you'll get lots of replies. Good luck with your quail.

In the "Other Backyard Poulty" forum you will find threads for geese, ducks, quail, guineas etc.
The quail people should be able to help you out. Sorry I don't know anything about them except a lot of people on here raise them. BTW Welcome to the flock
