AKChickenGal
In the Brooder
I am new to BYC, but not so new to raising chickens. My husband and I are in the rainy but beautiful part of Alaska, and we are on our second flock. Our first was all naked necks, and they were the friendliest birds! All six ladies were excellent layers, even in the winter. We gave them away when we moved to a new town, which was heartbreaking. We are raising 19 chicks at our new home. They are now 8 weeks old. Our flock consists of 1 naked neck, 1 blue andalusian, 1 rose-combed brown leghorn, 1 speckled sussex, 1 light brahma, 1 black minorca, 3 buff minorcas, 3 silver-spangled hambergs, 3 partridge rocks, 2 golden campines, and 2 silver-laced wyandottes. I look forward to learning more about all these different breeds and all the other information I can find on this site!
