Hi Everyone,
I have been using Backyard Chickens as a reference for quite some time now and finally thought I should create an account.
It's getting to be very cold and snowy here now and this is our first winter with chickens. So we are still working out all of the winter time kinks.
We have other outdoor animals too so hopefully it won't be too much of an adjustment to get our hens set for a very long, cold winter.

Welcome! I am also from Alberta (near Didsbury) we bought a heated waterer from UFA for about $50- there are cheaper DIY solutions but I didn't want to mess with water and electricity at a rental! :)
