Here here, down here in the South Central Mountains of New Mexico! Australorps are a wonderful breed to keep, they can be shy, so from day one start picking them up and handing them frequently, get them out of the brooder and sit with them on the floor in the middle of an old bed sheet, all danger locked away. They will naturally gravitate to your lap. Do this daily and by the time they are ready to go out to the coop, they will be begging to sit on your lap.

Agreed. I just love love my australorps. They are calm and provide good leadership for hens.
