Greetings from Hot Springs, Arkansas!
My name is Shelia. I'm a 38 year old, proud mom of 12 chicks that are 10 days old. They were a gift from my mom since I've always wanted chickens. I have 3 EEs, 1 RIR, 4 Australorps (1 is supposed to be a roo), 2 Cochins (no idea which kind yet), & 2 OEGs (also don't know which kind yet, they are tiny). I was told that they are all pullets except for the Australorp roo, but I'm not too sure. My mom got them from Atwoods & the girl that helped us with them used the wing feather method to choose the sex.
I would love to get into showing chickens, but I'm sure I would need better birds for that. I'm open to having a show bird mentor.
For now, these cuties will be spoiled rotten.
I'm hoping to find some chicken keepers near me. Most of the ones I've run across on a couple facebook pages I follow are in the northern part of the state.
Since I'm new at this & to BYC I'll take any help I can get.
Have a great day!
