My Wyandottes have been docile and good backyard birds, so I would recommend them.

I would definitely recommend Wyandottes. While I'm sure there are exceptions, I've found Wyandottes to be gentle, beautiful birds that lay plenty of eggs.

I've never raised Barnevelders before, but I've read that they make great chickens, too.
