Last summer a Cayuga male and a Rouen female found our pond and decided to stay. Since we have two big dogs, they aren't as friendly as we would like. Last fall we put up a kennel, covered the top, put in a dog house, and put bales of straw around it all. Since we always put an aerator in our pond, when we tried to catch the darlings, they would swim to the open water or thin ice. We finally put a dog igloo on the ice edge with the straw around it. We always kept their food inside the igloo to stay dry. We would sure hate to have anything happen to this cute couple!
