(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
My family and I are new to this - brought our chicks home the first week of April - hard to believe at this point!
(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
Five hens.
(3) What breeds do you have?
Blue Jersey Giant (Snooki), Rhode Island Red (Iris), Golden Laced Wyandotte (Amber), Easter Egger (Bunny) and a Black Australorp (Nina).
(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens?
The "simple-ness" of it - getting back to the basics in a world of nonsense and overindulgence.
(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
Playing guitar, cooking/BBQ, fishing and boating in the Northwoods of MI and WI.
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
I'm along for this ride with a wife, two girls (9 and 11), and a Havanese named Moose.
(7) Bonus: How did you find BYC, how long have you known about BYC, and what made you finally join our awesome community?
The Google machine - glad to have found you all!
