I have just started raising chickens in June of this year when I purchased 4 day old chics which I thought were all Barred Rocks. One turned out to be a Barred Rock rooster and one a hen, two seem to be Black Australorp hens. So I decided to add another hen of some sort...Well, I became interested in some rarer birds and since I have some Swedish in my lines, I thought about adding some Swedish rare birds. Coming soon are three Swedish Flower Hens. One is a rooster shown in my profile photo and two hens. Also I found a pair of Citron Spangled Hamburgs to add a splash of color to my flock.

Hopefully all will arrive safely by the end of the week. I am excited and have had to abandon my garden shed for the winter to the newbies in hopes of building them something by next summer. The four chickens that I have now, live in a cute Amish built house on wheels, but the new birds will definately not fit. We are so looking forward to our fresh eggs.

We also have other creatures here, so much fun in our retirement years.
