I've kept hens for about six years now..I currently have 5 big girls and 3 bantams...2 of the big girls and the 3 bantams were given to me recently after their owner passed away..so still some squabling going on..but I'm sure they will settle eventually....currently building a new larger coop so hoping that will help...looking forward to reading posts from like minded folks..xx

Hello there and welcome to BYC!

Sometimes new birds added to a flock never do get worked in well. I added some BR's last year to my flock of BA's and still they squabble. As Drumstick Diva has mentioned here, as long as there is no blood shed and horrible aggression going on, you may have to live with it.

But make sure you have plenty of room for them and extra food and watering stations. My BA's will run off the BR's when they are cranky enough so give your birds plenty of places to eat and drink in peace. The more aggressive birds can literally starve out the others.

Good luck with your flock and welcome to ours!

I've added new hens before over the six years I've been a hen mummy...its my two old girls that are being down right nasty...but will admit it's getting a bit better...the bantams are fed under the hen house where the big girls can't reach...but they all seem to settle in one hen house every night which is a relief...lol
