I have been trying to get in contact with some of the few breeders who still work with heritage RIR including the Mohawk line.
In searching and seeking out certain breeders, I did reach out to a man who is a member here to add breeder quality with potential show quality. Read hundreds of posts, more but it is an estimate. He posted on Poultry Show so I contacted him. He asked if I was a BYCer. I answered that I am on here. He said he doesn't sell to BYCer because it's a waste of good birds.
So, although we are trying to breed to participate in 4H, Livestock Conservancy, RIRCA, and many others, being involved here makes us "a waste". I wanted to share because it really is such an insult. I am still in shock that is how a man can refer to this collective group. Glad to know we are a waste.
